Yankee magazine recently published their "New England's Ten Best Beaches" list, and on it they list two beaches from the Cape and Islands. Coast Guard Beach in Eastham and Aquinnah Beach (formerly Moshup Beach) in Martha's Vineyard both make the Yankee Magazine top 10 list.
Cape Cod beaches have long been in the running for contenders on best beach lists. With the coast line running the entire perimeter of the Cape, there are countless beaches with beautiful views to explore. For a run down on the various beaches by town, and information on who to contact for beach stickers and permits, please see our Cape Cod Beaches section of CapeGuide.com. We've also got information on fresh water and kettle ponds, which are bountiful on Cape Cod and the Islands.
For a live view of the beaches, you can check out the Wellfleet Beachcomber cam with views overlooking the Cahoon Hollow beach in Wellfleet.
For more information on animal life at the beaches, check out the "Beachcomber's Companion" web site, sponsored by Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI) Sea Grant Program. On the Beachcomber's Companion website, you can go virtual exploring, and learn about the various sea creatures who habitat the Cape beaches.
